Kyoto Xanadu drops you into modern-day Japan, but with a twist—Kyoto’s now the capital. You play as Kamiya Rei, an ordinary student until one day he gets the ability to fight off monsters in a strange world called Xanadu. He ends up at Hirasaka Academy, a place where students actually train to explore a dangerous labyrinth hidden underneath the city.
Rei teams up with a group of new friends to take on powerful enemies and dig into the mysteries surrounding Xanadu. The game mixes things up with a combat system that lets you switch between two fighting styles. Battles play out in classic side-scrolling fashion, but you’re also free to roam and get lost in a huge, monster-packed labyrinth that’s full of surprises.
